The Locker Man Electrostatic Painting Process
At The Locker Man we use an attraction coating process performed with a mobile electrostatic painting unit to refinish any and all metal surfaces on your company’s premises.
In this technology, an ionizing electrode, usually located at the paint gun atomizer tip, causes paint particles to pick up additional electrons and become negatively charged. As the coating is applied to the workpiece, the charge dissipates through the ground and returns to the power supply, completing the circuit.
The electrostatic field influencers the path of the paint particles. Because the charged particles are attracted to the grounded workpiece, overspray is significantly reduced. Paint particles that pass a workpiece can be attracted to and deposited on the back of the piece. This phenomenon is known as “wrap”.
At The Locker Man our electrostatic refinishing process includes thorough cleaning and prep prior to refinishing. The paint cures over night to provide superior adhesion and wear resistance to the refinished item.
